Alcoholics Anonymous (A. A.) Meetings in the City of San Diego, California 
  Allied Gardens, Bay Park, City Heights, College/SDSU, Encanto, Grantville, Kearny Mesa, Kensington, Linda Vista, Little Italy, 
 Loma Portal, Mission Hills, Mission Valley, Normal Heights, Oak Park, Old Town, Otay Mesa, Paradise Hills, 
 Point Loma,  San Carlos,  Serra Mesa, Shelter Island, Sorrento Valley, Tierrasanta and University City 

  When possible we try to list nearby meetings together on larger, area-wide 'master pages', bringing the viewer first to those pages, with the option to then connect to pages for more limited areas, if needed. The smaller pages usually are available for towns or areas with (roughtly) two or more meetings each day.

    For this there are three reasons – to offer full information on what is available at a single glance; to minimize the need to jump from page to page; and to strengthen our sense of the broader A. A. around us, beyond our own groups, neighborhoods and towns.

    In the case of San Diego County, outside the city boundaries of San Diego, this gives us 10 master pages, covering roughly 800 meetings in 100 towns. This includes a page for all 38 Imperial County meetings to the east.

    The city of San Diego itself, however, requires a different approach. That is, we show about 473 English-language A. A. meetings here, and another 135+ conducted in Spanish, which are listed on their own page. That comes to more than 600 meetings each week, spread among some 35 neighborhoods and towns.

    These are too many for even ourselves to squeeze into a single page. (Actually, it's easy to do it, but the idea of these listings is to make it easier to find meetings, not make it even more of a challenge.) At the same time, there are no obvious geographic or civic features (cf. Albuquerque, NM) that would help to naturally divide the whole into 5 or 6 more manageable pages.

    For now, we handle this in the following way – until a better method is found.

    First, it happens that the 24 neighborhoods listed above, each with relatively few meetings, together make up a page (this one) with 154 meetings. This is still large but, as the expression goes, manageable.

    This still leaves 368 English-speaking meetings in another 11 areas ... almost none of them contiguous. For the time being, the best plan seems to be to have distinct pages for each, as follows – Centre City, Clairemont, Downtown San Diego, Golden Hill, Hillcrest, La Jolla, Mira Mesa, North Park, Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach, South San Diego and University Heights.
